I am a Colorado native, and in 1981 earned my BFA in sculpture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. I started painting again in 2020 with oils and acrylics, and after more than 30 years away from making art, I have found it to be an excellent diversion and form of self expression in these unprecedented times of change in human social and cultural evolution.
I was raised by parents who valued nature and the various forms of natural systems.
The “Canyon Flowers” series of paintings represents resilience and renewal in the face of grief and hardship. Other images remind me of places in my childhood. As I continue my personal growth on the path of artistic expression, I imagine my work will change. I want it to reflect kindness and honesty.
