This will be an open session for artists of all media to bring in their artwork (1 or 2 pieces) where attendees can engage in a discussion of their work with the purpose of helping the artist develop their skills and push their abilities to new levels. The critique can take two forms: open or focused, depending on the artist’s choice. In an open critique attendees will constructively discuss the artwork in any means that would be helpful to the artist and the group. In a focused critique the discussion would center around a topic or feature of the artwork. Attendees would only critique aspects of the work that the artist wants. A moderator (Scott or Jeanne) would make sure that discussions are constructive, supportive and conducive to helping the artists grow. The critique session takes place the first Friday of every month and will be expanded if it becomes popular. The goal of the sessions will be to help artists grow, bring more people into the gallery, and further develop the artistic community that surrounds Particulars.
