This class, taught by Joy Weinstein is suitable for children ages 12 and up, and for adults. There is a materials fee of $20 to be paid to the instructor on the day of class. Sterling silver ear wires are an additional fee.
Description: Use your own creativity to make these unique earrings made with colored glass and copper wire. Start with the “skeleton”, the wire. Twist it into a design of loops and turns. Into the loops goes colored glass. The wire is adhered to a glass base and with the help of a little frit on it (a gravely like glass) it holds everything together until it goes into the kiln. You will make at least 2 pairs. A brief presentation will demonstrate my technique. The rest of the class is work time. Colored glass, wire***, and firing are included in the materials fee. A pick up time will be determined before the class ends.
Bring to class: You will need to bring a needle nose pliers and a small wire cutter if you have one.
