Join master teacher April Christenson for art class! She retired in 2013 with 27 years of teaching art in the public schools. During her years with the public schools her art program won a Kennedy Center National award for excellence in art education. She has continued teaching and now has over 37 years teaching art. April is experienced with students of all ages. Her philosophy is if you can sign your name you can learn to draw and she can show you how!
April will help you to learn the magic of drawing the fascinating plants of nature. Class will start with simple flower shapes and progress to more complex shapes like tubular flowers. We will also learn about how to use colored pencils to add some color to your sketches and drawings. You will be provided with handouts and photos to draw from at the end of each class. These you can take home to refer to at any time. Flower shapes can also translate into other shapes in our world, see if you can spot any! This class is a fun and relaxing class for all levels!
Bring to class: A 9”x12” spiral bound notebook and a set of graphite pencils or pencil, eraser, sharpener. Also bring a set of 12 or 24 Prismacolor colored pencils (not Scholar Prismacolors) or any other set of colored pencils you may already have.
