Iris Folding Cards:November 23, 10:15am-12:15pm
November 23, 2019 @ 10:15 am - 12:15 pm

This class is designed for children age 8 through adults.
Class meets on a Saturday, with an $18 Materials Fee to be paid to the instructor.
Start early making your holiday cards because you are going want to make more at home!
These unusual pieces look complicated but are actually quite simple to make. The technique is called iris folding because the completed piece resembles the variable opening of a camera lens. The technique originated in Holland, where local craft people used beautifully patterned paper cut from inside business envelopes. Once you understand the basics of iris folding you can create almost any design.
You will start with an easy practice piece, then you can pick 2 different patterns to work on. The finished pieces can be used as cards; they can also be framed.
Bring to class: If you have small, sharp cutting scissors, bring them to class.
