We will learn tips and tricks about how to draw different leaf shapes including those tricky maple leaves. Then we will explore how to draw gourds and pumpkins to have a realistic 3-dimensional look. Class time will also include details about colored pencil shading/layering tips. Then for our final class we will create a still life using our fall harvest items on colored paper provided by the teacher. The class will also cover some still life composition tips. Beginners are welcome. Take a creative break with this fun class!
Bring to class: a pencil (#2), eraser and a set of 24 colored pencils. Bring what you have or purchase a set of Prismacolor colored pencils and a 9”x12” spiral bound sketchbook to the first class.

Join master teacher April Christenson for art class! She retired in 2013 with 27 years of teaching art in the public schools. During her years with the public schools her art program won a Kennedy Center National award for excellence in art education. She has continued teaching and now has over 37 years teaching art. April is experienced with students of all ages. Her philosophy is if you can sign your name you can learn to draw and she can show you how!
