You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class! Winter is the perfect time to appreciate and draw deciduous trees. Each kind of tree has their own unique structure. We will start with learning/reviewing the basic drawing techniques for drawing 3-dimensional trunks and branches. Then we will learn about the structure of the different kinds of trees and tips on how to create that look. Lastly, we will use colored pencils and colored paper to create a couple finished winter tree art drawings. The perfect way to spend time inside when It’s cold outside!
Materials: Bring a 9”x12” spiral bound sketchbook, a small pad (9”x12”) of colored drawing paper-preferably the brown craft paper sketch pads, set of at least 12 colored pencils including a white and at least one light grey color, a couple gray tones would be good for variety of color options, set of Graphite pencils, white eraser, sharpener. You can buy individual colored pencils at local art stores or at Dick Blick Art catalog online. (“Prismacolor” are my recommended colored pencil – not Scholar Prismacolors)
