Drawing Nature:Fall w Watercolor Pencils-ONLINE-Wed Oct 7,14,21,28, 3-4:30
October 7 @ 3:00 pm - October 28 @ 4:30 pm
Suitable for teens and adults, both beginning and experienced.
We will explore the wonders of watercolor pencils which are easier to use than watercolors. They are great for travel sketching and work for larger artworks. There are many new options in watercolor pencils these days, don’t miss out on the fun! Collect some photos of fall plants and leaves to use for this class. Collect some leaves from your yard to draw also. Watercolor Pencils are easier to control and make great tools for sketching in the field. You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class! For those with the stay at home blues this is a great cure!
Materials Needed: This class will be held online so please order materials through internet before class starts, or buy locally if stores are open.
• Purchase a set of at least 12 watercolor pencils or use what you have. Be sure to read the labels carefully so you do not end up with colored pencils: you need watercolor pencils that are water soluble. I recommend Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor pencils or Stadtler Watercolor Pencils.
• Purchase a watercolor pad of paper preferably “hot press” if you like smooth surface or “cold press” if you like a rougher surface.
• Also get a pencil, skinny permanent black marker, something to hold water, a small watercolor brush.
