Fall is the perfect time to appreciate and draw deciduous trees. Each kind of tree has their own unique structure. We will start with learning/reviewing the basic drawing techniques for drawing 3-dimensional trunks and branches. Then we will learn about the structure of the different kinds of trees and tips on how to create that look. Lastly, we will use colored pencils and colored paper to create a couple finished fall tree art drawings. Art is the perfect way to get some stress free time in your week! Bring to Class: Bring a 9”x12” spiral bound sketchbook, a small pad (9”x12”) of colored drawing paper (Canson Mi-Teines paper is recommended but not necessary), set of at least 24 colored pencils including a white and at least one light grey color if possible, set of graphite pencils, white eraser, sharpener. You can buy individual colored pencils at local art stores or at Dick Blick Art catalog online. (“Prismacolor” are my recommended colored pencil – not Scholar Prismacolors). Or bring a set of 24 colored pencils you already have. Colored Paper can also be purchased at Hobby Lobby in a big sheet and cut into 9″x12″ pieces.Contact: aprilpencilart@gmail.comJoin master teacher April Christenson for art class!
