February 3 @ 3:00 pm - February 24 @ 4:30 pm
You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class!
Beginners will learn the basics while experienced drawing students and painters “brush up” your technical skills. In this class we will continue to explore trees, they are amazing plants. Focusing on the conifer trees, we will start with the branching structure of the different conifers. Another emphasis will be about the art of really seeing what is going on visually then how to simplify conifers. Lastly, we will use colored pencils and colored paper to create a couple finished winter conifer drawings. The perfect way to spend time inside when It’s cold outside!
Materials: Bring a 9”x12” spiral bound sketchbook, a small pad (9”x12”) of colored drawing paper-preferably the brown craft paper sketch pads, set of at least 12 colored pencils including a white and at least one light grey color, a couple gray tones would be good for variety of color options, set of Graphite pencils, white eraser, sharpener. You can buy individual colored pencils at local art stores or at Dick Blick Art catalog online. (“Prismacolor” are my recommended colored pencil – not Scholar Prismacolors)
