Drawing for the Painter-ONLINE- July 7,14,21,28, 6:30-8:30pm
July 7 @ 6:30 pm - July 28 @ 8:30 pm
This class is for adults and teens and meets on Tuesdays.
We have all been told that drawing is a foundational skill that will improve any painters’ artwork. This is undoubtedly true, but have you ever struggled to transfer drawing skills to painting? In this 4 week series you will learn to approach drawing skills as a painter. You will learn that drawing can be achieved not only using line, but through the “carving” of shapes. You will become acquainted with terms like negative shape, unique shape, and line quality. You will also learn basic perspective skills, and specific techniques to improve your drawing, both from life, and from photo references.
Instructed by Oil painter Jeanne Hougen, this class is suitable for painters in all mediums, as more emphasis is placed on learning drawing skills and techniques, than on paint application.
Artists of all skill levels will also benefit from this class, although beginners would receive more help in basic paint application if painting in oils or acrylics. Class sizes are kept small to allow for plenty of one on one instructor to student interaction.
If you are a beggining student please contact Jeanne to discuss the possibility of meeting beforehand to make sure you are prepared for the first day of class.
Please contact instructor for a supply list, and with any questions at email@example.com, or by calling 303-519-5254.
