The Uncial letters have their origin in the third century and were widely used through the 8th century. Not having an “upper case” or “lower case” these letters work well with all other alphabets as capital letters. The principles of this alphabet are easy to grasp and work as a good foundation for future learning. We will begin our lessons with a chiseled felt tip pen; as you continue with future classes we will introduce you to all the traditional materials needed to produce the beautiful letters that date back to the first century.
